Joining the WhatsApp club
How do I join?
Complete the registration form to reveal your invitation on the page. Tap Open WhatsApp and join, complete the joining step in WhatsApp, then choose your regional group and introduce yourself. Submitting the form alone does not add you to WhatsApp.
How much does it cost?
Join before 1 January 2027 and keep free community access. New members joining from 1 January 2027 pay a one-off £11.99 joining fee. There is no subscription. Golf rounds, guest fees and organised events are paid for separately.
Can I just get the newsletter?
Yes. Tick the optional email updates box when you register. You can choose whether to open your WhatsApp invitation and unsubscribe from emails at any time.
Do I need a handicap or club membership?
No handicap or club membership is needed to join the community. Individual courses and events may have their own requirements. We welcome golfers who are kind, courteous and friendly.
Which areas have groups?
London, South East, South West, East England, North East, North West, West Midlands, East Midlands, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Explore the regional groups. Playing partners and dates depend on who is available.
How do reciprocal golf and offers work?
Members can arrange guest invitations with each other, subject to the host club’s rules and fees. Check WhatsApp for current golf tour-event discounts and brand deals. Availability, prices and terms vary; community access does not include free golf.
How do I access member bookings?
Member bookings is a separate password-protected area for event purchases. You do not need its password to join WhatsApp. Ask an MFGC admin in the community if you need help with booking access. Already joined? Open MFGC in WhatsApp’s Communities tab instead of registering again.
Rounds and organised events
Is it competitive?
MFGC is friendly by nature. If your playing partners want a competition, you can agree that together.
Do golf days have handicap requirements?
Some venues and organised events do. Check the specific event details before booking. All players should respect the course and keep pace with their group.
Who will I play with at an event?
Many members come alone. We endeavour to pair players by ability, and can arrange for friends to play together.
What happens if I cannot attend?
We offer a full refund if we can find a replacement. With more than 60 days’ notice, we provide a full refund.
Which courses can I expect?
MFGC has hosted a golf day at Woburn. Check WhatsApp announcements for current events and booking details. Venue availability, prices and entry requirements vary by event.
How does MFGC make money?
Organised golf generates revenue through a 14% “pay as you play” fee, which supports club operations. The one-off community joining fee applies to new members from 1 January 2027. Revenue is reinvested in growing MFGC.
Is there a loyalty scheme?
There is no loyalty scheme at present.
